The long and rich history of Argolida is reflected in the archaeological sites of the prefecture and is displayed in the high-level exhibitions of the numerous museums of Argolida. The Archaeological Museum of Nafplio with the oldest and most well-kept panoply of Dendra, the Archaeological Museum of Epidaurus which attracts thousands of tourists from Greece.

The “Art Galleries” in Argolida hosts and exhibits works of Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking and Photography of reputable but also of new artists, showcasing new styles and new trends.

The famous “Nafplion Festival” is organized ever since 1992 in late June under the auspices of the Municipality of Nafplio and artistic director and famous pianist Yiannis Vakarelis. Many and wonderful musical evenings are organized in various romantic corners of the city such in Vouleftiko.

The festival of Epidaurus or “Epidavreia” is an ancient drama festival which is held every year during summer in the ancient theater of Epidaurus in the context of the Athens Festival. The Epidaurus festival was officially inaugurated in 1955 with the production of Hecuba of Euripides directed by Alexis Minotis and Katina Paxinou in the lead role.
